Walk, run, bike, or blade on 5 1/2 miles of smooth pavement as you take in the view at your own pace. Follow the path South to Belmont Shore / Alamitos Bay or North to Shoreline Village. At either location, you can rent jet skis, kayaks, boats, windsurfing equipment and more for a memorable afternoon afloat.

If you prefer to watch athletes rather than be one yourself, check out the Ice Dogs at the Long Beach Arena. This professional team is part of the West Coast Hockey League and has been dishing out exciting on-ice action since 1996. Catch the Ice Dogs in a game against Fresno, Bakersfield or Idaho during hockey season, September through April.

On the exterior of the Long Beach Sports Arena is one of environmental artist Wyland's Whaling Walls. At 116,000 square feet (11,000 sq m), it is the world's largest mural (according to the Guinness Book of Records).
